The Taste of Autumn

Autumn is definitely in the air - from the number of golden leaves swirling round our feet on the school run, to the crisp, fresh mornings and dark, drizzly evenings we've been experiencing of late.

But with the change of seasons, also comes a change in flavour profiles in the world of chocolate.

Strawberries and raspberries give way to sweet cranberries and orange, and the addition of rich liquors such as Irish Cream and Rum, alongside warming spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg come to the fore to add a seasonal twist with gentle nods to bonfire night and Christmas.

Our Autumn/ Winter range for 2021, captures these flavours perfectly.  For those of you who just can’t resist the taste of dark chocolate, our Double Dark and Delicious Chocolate Pizza combines 70% dark chocolate alongside sweet raisins and cranberries to help elevate your dark chocolate experience to the next level.

Meanwhile, our popular Irish Cream flavoured pizza is also back on the menu. Made with our signature solid milk chocolate base, this pizza is topped with Baileys Irish Cream Fudge and Truffles, alongside our mini chocolate crispy balls and white chocolate covered honeycombed rice balls for that added crunch.

Available as both a 7” and a 4” Mini pizza, it is finished with a drizzle of milk, white and dark chocolate to make a stylish gift for any Irish Cream or chocolate lover this Christmas.

For the ultimate Winter warmer, our Spiced Rum Chocolate Pizza sees a solid milk chocolate base, infused with rum flavouring, cinnamon, and nutmeg to provide a warming treat for the cooler nights ahead.

Also available in a 7” and a 4” mini, our Spiced Rum Chocolate Pizzas is topped with milk chocolate curls, orange chocolate drops, and milk and dark chocolate covered honeycombed rice balls.

Hot Chocolate Season

The return of Autumn also sees the return of Hot Chocolate Season. This year’s offerings from The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Company has been expanded to include even more flavours of our best-selling Hot Chocolate Bombes.

For me, there’s something about the taste of chocolate orange that is so comforting and makes me feel at home, no matter where I am. So when I heard the news that we were adding Orange flavoured Bombes to our winter line-up I was quite literally like a kid in a sweet shop and couldn’t wait to test these new additions to our Bombe Squad.

So what was my verdict? Well you certainly won’t be left disappointed. The combination of our sweet Belgian milk chocolate, combined with natural orange oil and the introduction of some new marshmallows which last all the way to the end of the mug is definitely a winner in my book.

As we head towards the Christmas period, fans of mint chocolate will be eager to hear about our new Mint Hot Chocolate Bombes. Using our hollow Belgian milk chocolate spheres, our chocolatiers have added just the right amount of peppermint oil to bring you a refreshing mint flavoured hot chocolate that is out of this world.
